What's Up With International Adoption ?

Well, here's my rant. I talked via email to the agency we adopted Lauren from yesterday and apparently every country is going to almost 2 years out from log in date to referral. I am at a point of decision and I honestly don't know which way to go. China was my first choice but the wait is 25+ months and they are expecting it to go higher, Vietnam is listed as almost 2 years also,so I looked into Taiwan and it's listing 12-18 months. Why the long waits, why the price increases ? When we adopted Lauren it was a 7 month wait and now it's over 2 years ? Ugh. All I want is a sibling for Lauren, why is it so hard to adopt now ?

A Walk With Jake and Molly

walk Jake but he's just too wild.

He would get so excited he would run

backwards. It wore all 3

of my "kids" out, they all

went to sleep afterwards.

Color Wonder Mess Free Sprayer

Let me just say this thing is awesome, Lauren got it for Christmas this year and I highly recommend it to parents who like their kids to be creative but don't want to clean up huge messes. She got the Disney princess version and it comes with stickers, stencils, mat,4 paint cartridges, a coloring book and a plain paper tablet. It's mess free but you do have to clean up the paint cartridges a little before you put them back by wiping the tops off. it says ages 5 and up but Lauren had no trouble using it and she loves it. Anyway, just my 2 cents on this thing, I think anything that is mess free and fun for kids is worth a try :)

Meet Jake

We have been looking into
getting Lauren a dog so
we went to our local pound
today and adopted a
Rat Terrier who she has
named Jake. He is about
1 years old and is the sweetest
dog, she loves him already.
He is very playful and loves
to chase balls and play with
his little toys she got for him.
He is full grown at 15lbs and
is already housetrained and
has been fixed. So far he has been a great addition to our family. :)

She's Definately a Southern Girl

We had snow tonight in Atlanta, yes, I know it's not the snow that the North is used to but hey, it's snow. This is the first time since we moved here that it has snowed.Steve is as giddy as a kid, he has been out in it for most of the night.

Steve bundled up Lauren and took

her outside to see it, her

response was.

" Ooh, snow pretty"

Brrr, it's cold

I all done, I go inside

I go watch Dora".

She's such a southern girl

just like her mama. I could

do with Fall and Summer and

just hibernate through winter. :)

3 Year Old Stats

We had Lauren's 3 year old

checkup this morning and she's

doing great. She is 34" tall and weighs

27 pounds. She may be small but

she has a fiery temper so that makes

up for her height. :) As far as

percentages, she is 50% in height and

75% in weight on the growth charts.

Do Stay At Home Moms Get Sick Days ?

Ok, I have been battling a sinus infection and finally went to the Dr yesterday, 4 prescriptions later we went out to lunch and I thought " Great, we'll get some lunch and then surely Lauren will take a nap because I so desperatly need some sleep" Ok, great plan right, well here's how it went.

Mommy- Lauren, Mommy is sick and needs to rest, let's watch a movie
Lauren- Mommy sick ?
Mommy- yes, let's lay down and watch Curious George and rest
Lauren- Mommy, where's the monkey
Mommy- He's right there
Lauren- Where's the monkey daddy
Mommy- The monkey's " daddy" is the man in the yellow hat
Lauren- oh, Mommy sick, go night night
Mommy- yes, sweetie mommy is sick and needs a nap
Lauren- mommy need a bandaid?
Mommy- No, mommy needs a nap, watch your movie ok.
Lauren- oh, where's the monkey ?
Mommy- Right there

Needless to say mommy never did get a nap so when Steve got home she was all his and mommy went to bed. But my question is this. Do Stay at home mommies get sick days and if so where do I sign up ?

Wikki Stix

We discovered these cool

craft sticks called Wikki

Stix, we first got them in a

Zaxby's kids meal and ever

since then Lauren has been

crazy for them so I went

to Hobby Lobby today and

bought her some. They are

wax covered yarn sticks that

can be made into anything

and they keep her entertained

for the longest time.
