Not A Good Day

I try and not let my blog get venty but this has not been a good day. Lauren is not sleeping again and was up 6 times in the night, then the pediatrician called and informed me that they messed up on her immunizations and she didn't recieve all of them and needed to come in today and get 3 shots, then someone hit my van, yes the new one and didn't leave a note ( Steve thinks the entire back bumper will need to be replaced) so that's how today has been. I am hoping tomorrow is a better day :)

Because she had to get shots today and she tried to be brave we went to the dollar general store afterwards and she got a nail set with nail polish, fake nails and hair clips in it, she played with them for the longest time. Not bad for a $2.25 purchase :)

I am filing the van claim tomorrow and don't know if we'll get a rental or not as we leave on Tuesday to visit family in Florida, the whole driver side bumper is split wide open.

Rainy Day Fun

We have had rain for 2 days so we haven't been able to go outside and Lauren is an outside girl so we have been finding creative things to do inside. today I gave her a placemat and some shaving cream and she had a blast playing in it, she had it up both arms, on her face, in her hair, of course when she was done it was bath time but she had a great time playing and it wasn't too terribly messy :)

The Mouth Of The South

Lauren has gotten really smart mouthed and super sassy lately. the past 2 days have been the worst. yesterday she was being really mouthy so I told her to watch her mouth to which she replied " I can't because my eyes are attached to me" then this morning I told her we need to go to Kroger and would she like to have lunch out at McDonalds while we are out, she ignored me so I asked her a litle while later the same question to which she sassily replied " whyyy do you keep asking me that". She's only 4 so I can hardly wait until the hormones kick in and it gets worse. The library emailed me this morning and said my copy of " Have a new kid by Friday" is ready to pick up so guess where we'll be going today :)

Bento Box Blues

I have the Bento box blues, I ordered a bunch of bento box stuff for Lauren thinking if I made food into cool shapes she would love it and just eat almost anything. Yeah Right. I made Star Cheese, Bear Rice and Elephant Cucumbers. What did she eat ? Nothing....she looked at the cheese and said " I don't eat cheese", she looked at the cucumbers and said " They not supposed to be stars" she looked at the rice and said " I like plain rice" so much for that brilliant plan. :) Sigh......

Princess Bed

We went to Ikea today and in the kid's department they had these canopy's over most of the beds there, well, when Lauren saw them she thought they were the coolest and she asked if she could have one so that she could have a Princess Bed. She was so excited over this thing and could not wait for Steve to get it put up, she thinks she is royalty now and the best part is it was only $9.99. Not bad indeed for a Princess Bed transformation. ( and once again she is not wearing pants, this girl hates clothes) :)

Lie To Me

Do any of you watch this show ? It comes on Wednesday nights at 8:00 on fox. This show has me so intrigued with people that I have placed books on hold at the library so that I can try and read faces and expressions. I think it's fascinating that we all have the same expressions concerning lying, anger, rage and happiness and there are books that show you those expressions and how to read people. Here's a link to the show. Of course all the books at the library are checked out now, must be lots of people interested in it from watching the show :)

Slacker

I know I am a blogging slacker but I have a good excuse, we went to Florida on Friday for a funeral and got home last Sunday night and somewhere in that process I caught a virus bug so I am a slacker but I will try to do better. The trip was sad but Lauren got to see family again and she went to her cousin Kenny's baseball game and rooted him on, she also helped Shannon program her phone so even though it was a sad trip because of the funeral we had happy times as well :)

Fun Foil Art and a Lesson In Economics

Lauren has been bugging me to death asking me for something she saw on tv called Fun Foil Art, she would not let it go, she asked me every day for it it was like Annslee and the red dress at the reunion. Lauren is determined that when she wants something she does not give up on it and that was the case with this craft thing so I told her that if she wanted it she had to give me $10.00 of her money(she gets $1.00 a week for doing her chores on her chore chart) and I would pay the rest of it. It was $30.00 for this thing with shipping so she agreed and went to her piggy bank and got me $10.00 out to pay for part of it. well, the mailman brought her fun foil art yesterday and she was so excited, she played with it most of the afternoon off and on yesterday and this morning she started playing with it before she even got dressed.

Time's Flying

I guess I don't always realize how fast time is going by until I look at then and now pictures. We went back to Pooles Mill park on Saturday and when I got home I started looking at past pictures from the same park almost 2 years ago and could not believe how fast she is growing up. These pictures are from the same park, same swings, same water spot but look at the difference in Lauren. wow, time really does fly by.

Fun at the Park

We had McDonald's for lunch today with Noah and Jeremiah and then we headed to the park to play. It was a beautiful day and the 3 musketeer's had lots of fun. I don't know if you can tell the height difference in Lauren and Jeremiah or not but he is 2 and she is 4 and he is almost taller than her :)
