Take Me Out To The Ballgame

We went to the Braves/Brewers game yesterday at 1:00. The Braves won but it was so hot. I guess that's why we are called "Hotlanta". Lauren had a great time, she had all of the great baseball foods. Cotton candy, peanuts, a snow cone. This girl LOVES baseball and daddy couldn't be happier about it. :)

Fascinated With Poop

Well, there you have it. My daughter is fascinated by poop. she wants to know what color it is each time she poops. I know this is not a pleasant post but it is funny :) This is our conversation tonight.

Lauren: What color is the poop
Mama: it's green
Lauren: It looks like peanut butter
Mama: Lauren, it does not look like peanut butter, it's poop. I need to clean it off of your potty seat, it's yucky.
Lauren: It not yucky mama, everybody poops.

Ugh, she says everybody poops because that's what I had to tell her to keep her from getting upset when we had to clean up and now that's what she tells me.

And there are no pictures because I am not that weird :) I just think it's funny that she is fascinated with bodily functions, she wants to know every single time what color it is. I do good to keep from up heaving when I clean it and she wants to know the details of it. Maybe she'll be a nurse or even a doctor one day and then I'll appreciate her interests. HA

Noah Came To Play

Noah came for a playdate today, it was the first time he has come to Lauren's house and they were so excited. :) They played in the Dora kitchen, played race cars, had smore's for dessert after lunch and lauren tried to get Noah to play dress up but Noah wouldn't take the bait. :) That's the downfall to a boy best friend I guess, you can't talk them into playing dress up with you. They had a great time but we discovered Lauren really needs a sibling, sharing is not her strongest attribute you can tell by the crossed arms picture, something didn't go her way.

Fun With Dad

It was a rainy day here on Father's day so we had a low key day but today the weather was beautiful and we had to head to the neighborhood pool. Lauren loves this pool, it's nothing fancy. No slides or diving boards but it has stairs and a handrail. Wahoo. The other pictures are of her new favorite daddy trick, she climbs on his back and he hangs her upside down. we get great belly laughs from this.

Look What I Found Today

I was getting some stuff together for a children's church mission lesson on China tomorrow and I found this. Oh, what a great time that was :) I wish we were all on the journey together again. Do you all remember the pushy people trying to sell us stuff while we were there, I don't think I'll ever forget that.

My Mission Today

She's proud of her new room

The new playroom

My mission today was to turn Lauren's room into a big girl room by moving the queen bed from the guest room into her room and turning the guest room into a playroom for her. we bought new livingroom furniture over the Memorial day weekend and it's being delivered tomorrow. I think her new room is cute, you can't really see the sheets but they are circles like the wall stickers, lauren put the wall stickers on herself so I didn't mess with them too much, I did go back in and spread them out a bit more while she is napping but since she put them how she wanted them I tried to leave them alone. Her playroom is still a work in progress but at least I can just close the doors if it gets too bad and she has a place to go and play by herself so I don't have toys all over the house. This will have to do until we can afford a bigger house :) The best part of it all is that it didn't cost me much to redo Lauren's room, we had the bed already and I found the comforter online at domestications.com and the wall stickers on ebay so I redid her room for less than $70.00, not bad huh ?

It's going by fast

We went back to a favorite park this evening and I was shocked when I looked at pictures of Lauren from the last time we were there. It's going by so fast, I wish I could keep her little :) The older pictures are of March 07, the new one is from tonight.

A Visit to Florida

We got home today from a trip to Florida to see Cousin Heather graduate. we also took Lauren rollerskating at the local rink while we were there, she was not impressed with it at all. :) She had a great time visiting grandparents and cousins and we are extremely proud of Heather as she gets ready to head to UF.

What Drought ?

Even though Georgia is still in a drought, it was too nice to stay inside so we gave Lauren a watergun and out she went chasing Jake. Then it was time for a dip in her kiddie pool. we did use the pool water to water our flowers and vegetables so we did recycle it. :)

Taking It For Granted

I have witnessed something the last two days that rocked me to the core with mothers and children. yesterday at chick fil a a young mother probably about 26 was telling another mother that she cannot wait for the nanny to start next week, she can't wait to be free of her 2 girls who were probably preschool age and sitting at the table when she was saying this. Today my friend T and I and our kids were at mcdonalds for a playdate and another mother of a little preschool girl snatched her little one up and told her " Your a horrible daughter, just a bad, bad daughter" My heart crumbled and broke for this little one. There are people right now that would give everything to have kids to love and these 2 mothers are taking it for granted. Come on people, don't take it for granted if you have kids to love and hold and teach. They are only little once and then before you know it they are gone. Don't be the moms in the restaurants crushing your kids with hurtful words and stupid comments.

" Let us look upon our children;let us love them and train them as children of the covenant and children of the promise. These are the children of God". Andrew Murray

Just Some Pictures

Noah's mom took these at the park, I thought they were cute of Lauren. I love black and white pictures anyway so I thought I would post these.

Pro to Go

I try not to push my AVON stuff on people very often but I do have to say that this product is awesome. It's the new pro to go lipstick and it's a one handed lipstick tube that you slide the color up and then back down again to close it. It really is very cool and great for mom's who need more hands. if you would like to order some you can go to my website It's $5.99 right now. You can also email me if you would rather do that to order it.

First Day of T Ball Class

Lauren had her first T ball class today, she enjoyed it but she ran the bases backwards :) it was hilarious watching seven 3 year olds learning how to play the game. The picture of her with her hand on her hip in the field while Noah bats cracks me up.

A Few New Crafts

Lauren and I went to hobby lobby today to pick up some cheap crafts for her to do. I found these cute elephant and lion crafts for .88 cents so I bought the only 4 they had, as soon as we got in the van she had to hold them and then as she laid down for her nap she had to hold them. well, she fell asleep holding her craft and I couldn't get it out of her hand so she held it the whole time she napped:)You may notice the other ones had to stay close by also but the elephant one had to be held.

Happy To Report

I am happy to report that Lauren is now sleeping in her own bed in her own room. Friday she decided she wanted her Dora bed moved to her room so we did it and she has slept in there by herself ever since. I am happy that she is getting Independence but I am a little sad that she is growing up more and more each week. first potty training and now sleeping in her own room :) We are looking for her a regular bed so we can redo her room into more of a "big girl" room.

The Potty Present Choice

We took Lauren this morning to pick her prize for using the potty all week long, she had her choice between a cash register and a pink guitar or a Dora bath toy. she chose the Dora toy. :) we also went to lunch at Joe's crab shack so she had a very special day.
