She's A Southpaw

Lauren is a southpaw, she is doing everything left handed, she works her computer mouse lefthanded, she writes & colors left handed, she eats with her left hand. She's a lefty :) and she does have more clothes than these striped shirts she's always in but she always picks the "rainbow" shirts to wear. I choose my battles carefully with her, it makes life a little easier :)

oh, and speaking of paws Jake graduated from obedience school this weekend. Lauren got to take him on his graduation march around the store, she was so proud :)

Taking out her contacts

Today Lauren was standing in front of the bedroom mirror playing with her eye, so I asked her what she was doing. she said " I'm taking out my contacts" HA, she is definitely watching every thing I do.

Also, on a potty training note, she has gone on the potty 3 times in the last 2 days. If she keeps it up all weekend Mommy & Daddy are taking her shopping next week for a special toy. she has been asking for a backyardigans guitar she saw in a magazine so that would be a special potty treat :)

An Impromptu Playdate

We met Noah and Jeremiah for a picnic lunch at the park today, Lauren and Noah are two peas in a pod. At one point Lauren fell down and Noah went and said " Lauren are you ok" it was so sweet, he even held out his hand to help her up. We also went after lunch and had Gelato, the kids loved it.

Atlanta Reunion 2008

We had a great weekend visiting with old friends and meeting new ones as well. The reunion turned out to be alot of fun despite my worrying :) We are so blessed to have an extended family in our Hubei group. We love them all and cannot wait for Reunion 2010 in St Louis. It was fun to see the personalities come out that you don't see on the blogs. Josie was alot quieter than I expected her to be and of course Miss Annslee was her wild self, Liana is so sweet, Jiali was alot of fun to watch and so were her brothers & sisters, Ellen and Lauren are alot alike in attitude and sassiness, Molly took it all in and Jenna had fun on the elevators, Mikayla watched it all with her brothers by her side, Caeli was the cutest thing and very fast to get away, we didn't get to see Lily come out much but she enjoyed playing with the others also. All in all the girls are beautiful and spunky, just as it should be.

Soccer Class

Lauren had her first day at soccer class today, she absolutely LOVED it. It's a program offered through our county park system where she'll go to soccer for 4 weeks and then it changes to 4 weeks of T ball. It's for 3 and 4 year olds so it's a great learning tool for her, there's no soccer teams here for her age so this is the next best thing. She had the best time out there and talked about it all afternoon. :)

Tallulah Falls

We took a day trip out to Tallulah Falls
while Steve was on spring break, it was a neat place to visit. It's about an hour or so from us but was well worth the trip. We got some good pictures of Lauren with the tulips at a restaurant we stopped at but the picture of her sticking her tongue out is her usual defiant nature :)

Atlanta reunion is 1 week away, see you all soon. :)

The Stepstool

Steve built Lauren a stepstool so she can reach our sink to brush her teeth & wash her hands. Well, he let her pick the paint for it and she got to help paint it. She picked a Disney Purple so here's the finished product. It's Beautiful right ?

Lauren & The Sandbox Meal

I am being served pizza, cheese and purple drink, ala sandbox. She is also talking about the shirt her "big papa" sent her from Las Vegas. Basically just random cuteness of my girl. :)and before you ask, she never wears pants unless we go somewhere, she refuses to wear pants in the house or in the yard. :)

So Competitive Already

Lauren and Steve played The Ladybug Game last night before bed and Lauren lost twice, well when she got up this morning she whined to Steve" You won 2, I no win, we play again, I win" Ha. she had to play that game again right after breakfast to try and win. I cannot believe she remembered that she had lost the night before and she was not happy about losing. She is already so competitive.If you don't have the ladybug board game, it's very cute. I got it at target and it was invented by a 6 year old.

Happy Easter

We had an Easter egg hunt after church today, the kids had a great time. They also had an Easter party during church with crafts and cupcakes so of course Lauren loved that, she showed me her blue icing tongue proudly :)

Bike Riding Then and Now

We took Lauren out to ride her bike last night, check out the pictures from when she first got her bike until now, she can now reach the pedals. :) Steering is still a work in progress but she'll get it.

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to an Easter egg hunt today with Lauren's friend Sarah, the girls had a blast and even sat on the Easter bunny's lap for a second :) Check out the field of eggs, they didn't know where to go first there were so many of them to get. Lauren got a prize egg and won a cow flashlight that moos, she couldn't be happier about it.:)

Oh Be Careful Little Mouth What You Say

Ever heard this Sunday school song ? It also says be careful little ears what you hear. Well apparently I need to watch my tone and my words around miss L now, she told jake tonight " You get down right now, you hear me,I said right now, no Maam Jake".

Holy cow, that is me all over the place but the No Maam part cracks me up. She is so funny at times, I do need to watch my tone since it's now coming back to bite me.

Hide & Seek

This is Lauren's new favorite game to play with daddy, they play it every night. The funny part is she counts 1,2,3,5,10, here i come , then if she can't find him she'll whine and he'll come look for her. How trained is he :) The first picture is her counting, can you see where she's peeking in between her fingers. HA

Class Picture

Here's Lauren's current class picture, she is going to start at a new preschool in the fall, she was supposed to start her new school in April but if we wait until Fall she will be in Noah's class. She is really excited to be going to school soon with Noah, the only catch is she MUST be potty trained by then and she is not interested still, hopefully this summer she will really get busy so she can go to her new school.



*It's a little grainy, it didn't scan well. She is also getting a new teacher on Tuesday, so we'll see how that goes. :)

The Three Muskateers

We had a playdate today with Lauren's best bud Noah and his new little brother Jeremiah. Jeremiah has been home a few weeks now from Taiwan and is the prettiest little boy I have ever seen. :)

Lauren's Imagination

Apparently we have crocodiles in our living room, green and yellow ones. her imagination has just soared lately, the other day she was in the tub and all of a sudden said "I need to get out, I need to get out", I thought she had had an accident in the tub but apparently there was a crab in the tub and he was after her. :) Please excuse my coughing and voice as i have bronchitis still.

Lauren and Jake

We haven't had Jake a month yet

but he is Lauren's dog already,

she can pull his tail like in the

picture below and he could care less.

She also will grab his mouth and open it

and tell him to " say ahhh"

he never nips or gets annoyed with her

he just wags happily :) I tell

you he has been a great

asset for us, he starts

"doggy school" in March

so hopefully it helps him

The Sick House

Sorry we haven't posted lately but Lauren and I are both sick with the flu, please keep us and daddy in your prayers, Steve has been a great nurse but we hope he doesn't get it also. :)
