Homeschooling

We have been praying and thinking very hard lately about homeschooling Lauren and have come to the decision that starting in January she will begin homeschooling at least through the elementary years and then we'll see about a private school. Her last day at preschool will be the week of Christmas break. We have already joined a local homeschooling activity group and they have weekly activities for the children and monthly teaching meetings for parents. We also got a package of curriculum from Sonlight. We also prepared our house by turning the playroom into an office/ playroom and buying a student desk and chair set for Lauren. We are all excited about it and feel like this is the best decision for us and for Lauren. Steve is a bus driver for our county and quite honestly our schools here are not the best in my opinion, lots of issues I won't put on a public forum but trust me they are really bad. anyway, here's a picture of our little turkey with her Thanksgiving hat and napkin holder she made :) We hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving. We all have lots to be Thankfull for :)

I agree, I think she will be much better off with homeschooling.
I love the hat and napkin holder she made and of course the picture of her is just beautiful.
We do have so very much to be thankful for and I thank God every day for all that we have!

I know it's a difficult decision to make but Lauren's in good hands! Time goes so quickly and you will no doubt enjoy your school days with her. Our little ones are growing!

I love the joyous look on her face in the picture.

I'm sure it will go well and be the best. I graduated from homeschool and if done right is really a great choice

I give you so much credit. Homeschooling is something I've always thought about but never had the courage to try.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Oh Stacie...*I will be praying for you all as you begin this most wonderful blessing of homeschooling! I can honestly say...that I absolutely treasure my days with Chelsi! We learn things together...(a second time for me on several topics)...but to watch her "get it" and watch her enthusiasm with all things related to science...just makes me so full of happiness and thanksgiving to GOD for leading us down the precious road of homeschooling!
Please stay in touch....as I am excited for your family!
May I add you to my sidebar list of blogs???
Blessings,
Denise
