and said mama chair rock renny
well translated that means
Mama, come rock Lauren in
the glider and I was more than happy
to oblige. she has not wanted
to be rocked in over a year
so we rocked, we sang, she slept.

Adoption Fundraising Help and Our dog Molly

We are working on our second adoption, this time from Vietnam. If anyone has any fundraising ideas they would be willing to share please tell me. We are going to have to do this as debt free as possible so I need to fundraise and apply for grants as much as I can. We'll keep you posted on the adoption as we are in the beginning stages. Now, about our poor dog Molly.

We have a daschund/pekinese
mixed dog Molly, that is about 14 years old.
she is very patient with Lauren even when Lauren
does this type of stuff to her.
I don't know if you can tell but
Lauren is trying to wipe the dog's mouth
after feeding her turkey cubes. she chased
this poor dog all over the dining room
trying to wipe her face and Molly never got annoyed she
just ran away and tried to hide. Can't say I blame her. :)

My tongue hurts and a book report

I know, it's a crazy title but today Lauren came to me and
said "mama, my tongue hurts". I have no clue as to why her tongue hurts, I didn't even know she knew where her tongue is at. :) but anyway, she wanted some orange medicine for it ( ibuprofen) and it made it all better :)

Now for the book report, the discipline without shouting or spanking book was ok and I will be glad to mail it to anyone that would like to borrow it. just email me privately with your address. There is one line in it that totally applies to me and that is " disciplining is sometimes like working fertile ground and sometimes like hitting your head against a brick wall"
The basics of the book are:
1. Decide on a behavior you would like to change ( explain to your child what you want done)
2.Praise your childs behavior when she/he is doing something good
3.Avoid power struggles
4.Be there
5. Don't be a historian ( don't keep reminding your child of a past bad behavior)

Parenting Peculiars

I bought this book from amazon.com and it came in today, I am going to see how helpful it really is for me. The closer Lauren gets to 3 the absolute worse her temper is getting. She is hitting, kicking, throwing, and being a downright little brat at times. I try my hardest to not let it affect me to the point of spanking or yelling but I am not a patient person and to tell you the truth it's getting old. I'll let you know how the book helps. Lord knows somethings gotta give with this crazy child of mine. She can also be really sweet and loving but her temper is out of this world, I guess it's the Hubei girl in her. :)

I wonder what he did ?

I came down the hall today
to find purple bunny on the
time out stool with duck
next in line. :) I wonder what the
misbehavior was that Lauren
thought needed a time out ?
